Orientation Week

Tuesday, 2 December

Census date is the last date students can withdraw from enrolled units without academic or financial penalty.

Follow these steps to log into MyCQU. MyCQU is your gateway to everything, including booking your orientation events and enrolling.  

  1. Go to MyCQU and select "Current student".
  2. Use your student email address or Student ID as the username.
  3. For your first-time login, you'll need a temporary password. If you're unsure about this or need information regarding it, please visit our Student Login Details page.

The first time you log in, you will be prompted to create a new password and nominate secret questions and answers. Ensure you choose a password you will remember, but not anyone else will guess.

Enrolling in your units (also known as subjects) is an important step. You can enrol once you receive your student visa. Most international students will require a student visa to study in Australia. If you are in Australia on a bridging visa, you can also enrol,

To ensure you enrol in the right units, we recommend checking your Course Planner first. It’s a useful guide for planning and enrolling.

Once you have checked your Course Planner, please log in to MyCQU to  enrol in your first term's units.

Step 1: Log in to MyCQU

  • Go to my.cqu.edu.au.
  • Select 'Current student'.
  • Type your Student ID and password to log in.


Step 2: Plan your units

  • In your 'Today' checklist, select 'Create a study plan' and follow the prompts for your personalised study planner.
  • You may need to choose a major and/or electives, depending on your course.
  • When finished, go to 'Enrol in Units'. 


Step 3: Enrol in your first term units

  • Find your first term. This would be Term 3 2025.
  • Click 'Enrol' at the top of that term. Only do this only for your first term. 


Step 4: Choose your classes

  • On the left side menu, click 'Study' tab.
  • Select 'Manage course'.
  • Click on 'Class registration'.
  • Choose your first term from the drop down on the top right-hand corner.
  • Select your preferred class times.

Once you are enrolled and have arrived in Australia, please come to campus to check-in and prepare for your studies by following these steps. 

  1. Register for a Unique Student Identifier (USI). 
  2. Complete check-in by filling out the Online Check-in Form.
  3. Complete your class registration via MyCQU.
  4. Complete any outstanding tasks in your MyCQU 'Today' view.
  5. Receive your ID card and access card.

CQUniversity runs a mix of online and on-campus experiences throughout Orientation Week. 

We understand that planning your journey and arriving in Australia takes time. Your attendance at orientation will depend on your arrival status.

We encourage all new students to book these additional online workshops as well. 

  • All About Uni workshops: Great for asking questions about fees, timetabling and more. 
  • Academic Learning Centre (ALC) workshops: Develop your study skills before classes and assessments begin.

After booking your orientation events, you can log in to view and manage your personal orientation schedule any time.

Foundations of Academic Integrity

CQUniversity values academic honesty and integrity. As a student, we want to ensure that you understand our academic expectations before you start your course. 

To help build your confidence and capacity, all new students must complete the Foundations of Academic Integrity module.
